Our Training Approach
All workshops with Shire Coaching and Training (B A Initiatives Pty Ltd) apply adult learning principles including experiential and activity based learning. An effective cycle of learning is blended into the process catering to all learning styles. Individuals expand on personal experience through reflecting, conceptualising, practising and debriefing.
Participants are encouraged to actively involve themselves in solo and group exercises, activities, role plays and interactive processes. These offer variety and are enhanced with music, colour and frequent changes of pace. All games, processes and activities are designed to draw out key learning points for individuals and teams. Open discussions help each person to decide on why, how and when to apply what has been learned. This approach provides individuals with the ability to change behaviours and attitudes and to transfer learning to their own work and life situations.
All workshops are specifically tailored to meet the needs and objectives of your organisation.
We are committed to our training making a difference. Any training will always produce better results when participants have the opportunity to practice and apply new habits into their work roles and lives. If you want to really apply the learning from any training program, we recommend follow up training sessions, or the set up of systems utilizing an internal coach or buddy, or external one-on-one coaching. A study found that training alone increased productivity by 22.4 per cent, whereas training and follow-up coaching increased productivity by 88 per cent. ( The Complete Guide to Coaching at Work.
